I read this in today's 24 Hours newspaper daily on the way to work:
"Pregnancy is a choice. I do not believe I have to give up my seat on the bus or SkyTrain for a pregnant woman. One hast to realize that having a baby and having children is going to be tough. This is one of those. Give up my seat for the elderly and disabled? Of course. For someone who chooses to have a baby? Not likely."
-David Mann, Vancouver
All things being relative, I'm assuming he's referring to women who are definitely 'showing' their pregnancy or else how would he know that they are pregnant. I'm sure there are a lot of pregnant women out there who are comfortable standing on the bus or the train just fine if they are able to. It's just amazing how blatantly misguided this man's opinion is about showing consideration to those who he deems deserve it. Pregnant women are obviously off his list.
I don't do this very often but i'm going to judge a little.
Obviously, this was from a man someone who's probably alone (if he had a wife or a girlfriend, he would probably wouldn't be getting any anytime soon). He probably doesn't have a good relationship with his mother. He wouldn't treat his mother like that but then maybe he will. He probably forgot how his mother made the choice to have him.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion but....this one's off.
